14U Information

14U (Born in 1996)

14U is designed with a focus on “playing the game” and having lots of fun. This category leads to a Provincial Championship. Registered teams can compete in two Premier events followed by the Provincial Championships. In order to be eligible to compete in the Canadian West Open Championship, teams must compete in the Provincial Championship.

14U teams are not eligible to participate in 15U & 16U events.

14U will utilize the 12 subs limited rule with no libero. 14U will have a separate division in Premier tournaments and the Provincial Championships provided there are sufficient entries. Teams with a mix of 13U and 14U players must play in the 14U category. 14U girls will be split into division 1 and division 2 for the Provincial Championships. A team may choose to enter either division however; to enter division 1 a team must have played in one premier tournament. The top 2 finishers at the Provincial Championships will have their entry fee paid for by Alberta Volleyball into the Canadian West Open Championship. The Tachikara Gold will be the official competition ball for this age category.

Tryouts and training at the 14U age class level may not commence until January 1st of the current club volleyball season
