15U (Born in 1995) 15U is the first level in Alberta’s elite development system, which leads to the Canadian West Open Championship. This category of play also leads to Alberta’s Provincial Team Program for outstanding individual athletes. 15U teams are not eligible to participate in 16U, 17U or 18U events. In order to be eligible to compete in the Canadian West Open Championship, teams must take part in the Provincial Championship for their age category. 15U teams will compete in a separate division at tournaments and the Provincial Championships provided there are sufficient entries. 15U will utilize the 12 subs limited rule with no libero. The top 2 finishers at the Provincial Championships will have their entry fee paid for by Alberta Volleyball into the Canadian West Open Championship. New in 2008 The Tachikara International will be the official competition ball for this age category. |

Craig teaches at Vernon Barford School within the Edmonton Public School district. Over the past twenty years he has coached everything from Special Olympics to a variety of sports teams at the JR., SR., and College levels. Craig's #1 passion is Volleyball and this is evident in the immense time he gives yearly to the sport. Currently he is Head Coach of the Senior Girl’s Volleyball Team at Vernon Barford and Assistant Coach at King's University. As Craig goes into his second year of coaching NAVC, he is proud of the season he had last year and is looking forward to the year ahead in Volleyball. Notably, Craig took the U14 Green team to a silver medal in the Provincial Championships last season and he is looking forward to working towards a similar result or better result this upcoming year. With numerous Junior High City Championships and countless tournament wins under his belt, he is sure to once again impact the U15 league in a positive and dynamic way. In addition to his coaching experience, Craig has played high school volleyball at Queen Elizabeth High School and continues to play (when he has the time) in the EVA. His primary goal is to have all student athletes become confident, believe in themselves and their capabilities, and become passionate about every aspect of volleyball. Craig has often commented that the greatest gift he gets from the sport of Volleyball is when his past athletes come back to him and speak of the impact that he has had on their lives as a coach. For Craig it is this evidence of players becoming life long learners and participants in a game that he has come to love so much, that makes him most proud of the work he does with his Volleyball athletes.
Craig has his NCCP level 1 certification and will pursue his NCCP level 2 this upcoming season. We are very happy to add Brandyn to our 2010 coaching roster! Brandyn is a former NAVC alumni and played in each age category, right from 13U - 18U. He played high school volleyball at Harry Ainlay, for Team Alberta in 2005 & 2006, and for Red Deer College Kings in 2007-08. Brandyn is currently enrolled at the U of A and is assistant coaching the Sr. girls at Vernon Barford Jr. High. Says Brandon, "This is my first year coaching for the club and I'm looking forward to being a part of the other side of the club, as a coach, and gaining coaching experience."
