Assistant Coach - Chelsea Hobbs

Chelsea Hobbs has been involved in volleyball through many different capacities and over the years her roles have included working for the Alberta Volleyball Association, as well as an athlete and coach. Chelsea started her post-secondary playing career in 2004 at Grande Prairie Regional College. After which she played as the starting setter for the Mount Royal Women’s Volleyball team from 2005 -2008. Although she loved to play, it did not take long for Chelsea to realize that she enjoyed sharing her passion and knowledge of the game with others just as much.

This realization has led Chelsea to pursue a variety of coaching opportunities. After playing with the Cougars, Chelsea spent one year assistant coaching the Mount Royal Women’s Volleyball team while she completed school. She was also involved with the Dino’s Volleyball Club while in Calgary, and in 2008 she helped coach her U16 team to a national victory. Since returning to Edmonton in 2010, Chelsea has continued to develop her coaching passion and ability under the mentorship of Lorne Sawula and Christy Hansen through her involvement at Aspire Volleyball. Acting as a mentor coach with NAVC last season, Chelsea is really looking forward to her first season as part of the NAVC coaching staff.

Assistant Coach - Cassidy Kinsella

This is Cassidy's first season coaching with NAVC.   She played club volleyball for siz years and was a member of Team Alberta at U16 and U18.  She has played a total of three years of post secondary volleyball, all with MacEwan University. Her first year was when MacEwan was still part of the ACAC in which she received the ACAC rookie of the year award.  She is now in her second year of CIS with Macewan.

Cassidy is working towards a Bachelor of Science degree and eventually hopes to get a graduate degree in physiotherapy after she completes her undergrad studies.
