NAVC U14 Griffins Coaching Staff

Head Coach - Chris Womack

Last season with NAVC, Chris was the head coach of the U16 Gold Bears and is looking forward to working with the U14 Griffins. This will be Chris’ third year coaching with NAVC.  He has extensive playing experience prior to joining the club. He played with Macewan College from 2006 – 2009 winning a Provincial and National Championship with Macewan in 2009 while also being named tournament MVP.  That summer, he was also a part of the U21 Team Alberta that went on to win gold at the 2009 Canada Summer Games. Chris then moved on to the University of Alberta where he played with the Golden Bears from 2009 – 2011 winning a Canada West Championship and a CIS bronze medal in 2010, as well as being an Academic All-Canadian both seasons with the Bears.  During his prior playing experiences Chris was lucky enough to be coached by some incredible coaches and has adopted his own coaching philosophy based on these prior experiences.  Athlete development and a focus on the process are paramount in Chris’ coaching philosophy.

Associate Coach - Keaton Seaby

This is Keaton’s 3rd Year coaching with NAVC.  Keaton is a certified Level 1 volleyball coach as of 2014 and attended The Art of Coaching Volleyball’s coaching clinic in Vancouver, BC in 2015 where he learned many valuable coaching tactics.  Keaton grew up in the small town of Kitimat, BC as a multi sport athlete with acheivements include a gold medal at BC Summer Games in fastball and multiple Athlete Of The Year awards in high school.  Keaton moved on to officiate and play high level intramural volleyball at the U of A while getting his Civil Engineering degree.  Keaton’s coaching philosophies include developing a lifelong love for sport, attention to detail in fundamental volleyball skills, and on-court lessons that translate into future endeavours off the court.

Assistant Coach - Levi Wolthius

Levi has have played volleyball ever since he was in grade 7.  As an NAVC Alumni, Levi player his entire club experience from U13 right up to U18 with NAVC.  During his NAVC tenure, his team won provincials all six years and Nationals twice.  His school seasons were spent at Edmonton Christian where they won 3A provincials. After his grade 12 graduation, Levi went on to play for the Trinity Western University Spartans where he played two seasons as a middle.  In both seasons the Spartans went on to the CIS National Championships winning the Silver medal this past season.  Levi has chosen to move back to Edmonton this year to focus on his education and is looking forward to starting his coaching career with NAVC. 

Assistant Coach - Krishen Singh

Krishen started playing volleyball in junior high school. He has played three seasons of senior volleyball at Hunting Hills High School, as well as four seasons with the Central Alberta Kings Volleyball Club. His high school team qualified for Provincials twice, and Krishen captained his club team to a fifth place finish at the Canadian Nationals Tournament three consecutive seasons. He was invited to participate in the Team Alberta Training Camp twice, and during his volleyball career has played as a right side, power, and middle hitter. Krishen is currently a second year student at the University of Alberta double majoring in Biology and Psychology. He is extremely excited to start his coaching experience with NAVC this year and looks forward to many more seasons.
