NAVC Griffins 16M Maroon Coaching Staff

Head Coach - Corri Caouette

Corri has always loved sport and been an athletic person. Throughout her teen years she played a variety of sports including soccer, basketball as well as volleyball. She played with NAVC for most of her club career and then went on to play for Grant MacEwan University for 2 years, transferred to the University of Alberta and has completed a degree in Kinesiology, majoring in Sport Performance.  Corri has coached multiple years with Jasper Place High school in the past, and is looking forward to her fourth season with NAVC. She strongly believes that every athlete should be given equal opportunity in practice (repetitions and feedback), so that they can succeed in the sport. Corri is a Level 2 certified coach.

Assistant Coach - Cole Byvelds

Cole grew up playing volleyball in Kingston, Ontario with the Pegasus Volleyball Club. From there he went to McGill University and played for four years while completing a degree in chemical engineering. Outside of volleyball Cole also enjoys lacrosse. He has previously played Jr. A with the St. Albert Miners and Sr. B with the Edmonton Warriors. Having graduated and moved out west in May, Cole looks to use his previous high school coaching and recent university playing experience out east to create a strong team environment.

Assistant Coach - Nico Scarcello

Nico is returning to NAVC for his second season of coaching with the club. He played out his club years in Calgary with Canuck, Canada West, and the 403 Selects Volleyball Club. He was named a league all star and MVP in high school and helped lead his U18 club team to a Division 2 National Championship. Nico continued his education out east at the University of Western Ontario where he also played for the Western Mustangs Junior Varsity Team.  Seeking a change and new challenges, Nico transferred to the University of Alberta to continue his degree in psychology with hopes to work in sports psychology. Nico spent the last year backpacking through Canada and Southeast Asia and has returned to the University of Alberta with a new perspective ready to finish his degree and continue pursuing his passion for volleyball and coaching.
