NAVC Griffins 18W Coaching Staff

Head Coach - Craig Marshall

Craig is looking forward to another season with NAVC where he takes the head coach role of the 17U Griffins. This is also Craig’s 3rd year coaching volleyball at The King’s University. This year he is assistant coaching with both the Women’s and Men’s nationally ranked teams. He graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of P.E., major in coaching studies in 2015.  During his time at the U of A, Craig played for the Bears for 2 years and then coached for 3 years, his last year culminating with the Bears winning CIS Gold in 2014. Craig’s coaching career began in grade 10 when he coached his grade 8 high school team in BC to a city championship. This is now Craig’s 10th year coaching.

Assistant Coach - Kimberly Bolin

Kimberly is looking forward to coaching with the NAVC Griffins and sharing her wealth of volleyball knowledge that stems from her own personal experiences reffing, coaching, and playing. Starting her volleyball career in Calgary, Kimberly played at Notre Dame High School and with Canuck Stuff Volleyball Club. Making the move North she began her college career in the ACAC at NAIT as both a middle and right side. One year later she headed back South, just down 109th though to MacEwan University. At MacEwan she focussed on her development as a middle, proving herself to be dominant across the league in the position for all four years.

Accomplishments with the Griffins include two Bronze medal finishes in the Provincial Championships and two Team Academic Awards for highest team GPA. Individually, Kimberly was recognized as a Provincial Tournament All-Star,  Academic All-Canadian for multiple seasons, an All-Conference Team Member, and a Graduate of the Bachelor of Commerce Degree Program. Kimberly continues to play at a competitive level both on the indoor court and in the sand, and stays involved with the MacEwan University varsity program as an assistant coach.

Her years with the Griffins were more than just volleyball, they were years of hard work, perseverance, and most importantly - memories. Growing as an athlete and a person with your closest friends is a time in your life that can never be lost, and it is helping to create an experience like hers that Kimberly is most excited for in this upcoming season with NAVC.

Assistant Coach - Jordan Fillion

This is Jordan’s first year coaching with NAVC. Jordan finished off her high school career at St Francis Xavier High School receiving the Athlete of the Year award in grade 10 and the MVP award in grade 12. Jordan has played 6 years of club (3 years with FOG and 3 years with Pandas) ending off her volleyball career with two years at The Kings University as a Left side/Libero before deciding to pursue her academics full time. Jordan has been a high-level athlete since U16 through Team Alberta, Alberta Winter Games, and Volleyball Canada Centre of Excellence.

Jordan is currently in the Education program at the University of Alberta majoring in Physical Education and minoring in Mathematics. She will one-day head coach high school level volleyball while teaching her two favorite subjects.

She is excited to share her experience and knowledge of high performance volleyball with the elite athletes of NAVC.
