Nico started playing volleyball at a very young age, he played school volleyball for 5 years at Rundle College Junior/Senior High in Calgary, Alberta and played his last two out of seven years of club volleyball with the 403 Selects where in their final year won the division two Canadian national gold. After graduating he went on to play his first year of university on the University of Western Ontario’s Junior Varsity team. This year Nico decided to transfer to the University of Alberta and give up his competitive career and turned his focus towards school and coaching. This will be Nico’s first formal coaching experience and he plans on getting his level one coaching certification with NCCP this January. He is very excited to offer any helping hand to the development of athletes while learning what it takes to be an effective coach.
